There's a lot of words I never, ever use when I'm saying something is cool. "Sick," "wicked," "bad" all fall into that category. Usually. Somehow they sorta fit with this car. The E34 has as special place in my heart. The first car I ever drove was a black BMW E34, which my dad got in 1995 and still has to this day. By the time I was learning to drive, the E34 was already outclassed and outmatched by the contemporary German sedans of the day, and was beginning to look a little bit dated. But since then it's held up very well, and come to be regarded as a classic sport sedan. There's something to be said for a clean, compact design like this, especially today when modern BMWs are so cluttered, creased and gigantic.
This rare E34 Touring, which had the badges removed, looks fantastic on the 18" wheels from the E38 BMW 740i Sport. I remember these wheels being referred to as "James Bond BBS" somewhere but I have no idea if that's what they're actually called. This car was parked outside of an always-interesting BMW shop called Bavarian Machine that's just down the street from me.
